Vision Pittsburgh is a relationship‑based cohort for adults ages 22–45 that reflects how the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh strengthens Jewish life while also helping build a safer, more inclusive world through partnerships, civic engagement and mutual understanding.
Hosted through the Community Relations Council (CRC)—Federation’s community relations and public affairs arm—this cohort emphasizes the CRC’s work to:
- Build harmonious relationships within and beyond the Jewish community
- Promote understanding on issues affecting the Jewish community locally and beyond
- Engage in public policy issues and education (through relationship‑building rather than rhetoric)
- Support the State of Israel in a way that keeps relationships intact, grounded in values and lived experience
Audience fit: The Federation’s YAD (Young Adult Division) commonly centers this life stage; this cohort is built for the schedules, networks and leadership growth of adults 22–45. The ideal candidate will be an early- mid-career professional or graduate student.
By the end of 8 sessions + one trip to Harrisburg, participants will:
- Develop authentic connections with interfaith leaders and peers across cultural divides.
- Learn from local community leaders and elected officials how to bring the values of equity and inclusion into policy.
- Practice bridge building dialogue skills to navigate difference, tension, and disagreement.
- Expand knowledge of Pittsburgh’s diverse communities through visits, hospitality, and learning.
- Build confidence to serve as bridge‑builders at work, in neighborhoods, and in civic spaces.
- Develop the skills and confidence to engage in interfaith dialogue and civic advocacy as informed members of the Jewish community.
Participation in Vision CRC requires a minimum annual pledge of $180 to the Annual Community Campaign for fiscal year 2027. If you are already a donor contributing at least $180 annually, your existing pledge satisfies this requirement. All pledge payments are due by December 2027.
